They should be proficient in program administration, curriculum design, instruction, evaluation, budget planning, faculty mentoring, and accreditation processes. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to effectively meet the needs of students, faculty, and the healthcare community. Qualifications: Master’s in Nursing (minimum) Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN License At least 2 years of academic leadership experience At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience At least 4 years of full-time nursing practice experience Familiarity with accreditation processes Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create and maintain a conducive environment for teaching and learning Serve as liaison with central administration and other units Collaborate with faculty and administration to ensure program effectiveness and curriculum development Identify and incorporate industry trends, best practices, and new technologies into curricula Assist in budget preparation and administration Oversee maintenance of operational equipment and resources, in collaboration with faculty and accreditation bodies Contribute to the school’s master plan and evaluate student and program outcomes Facilitate faculty development and performance reviews Maintain relationships with clinical agencies and accreditation bodies Lead faculty and advisory board meetings Evaluate clinical site effectiveness and oversee clinical faculty scheduling Maintain current professional knowledge and resources Participate in faculty credentialing, appointment, and promotion processes Utilize staffing models for resource planning and reporting Provide backup for nursing faculty as needed Business Contributions: The Nurse Administrator/Program Director manages the nursing education unit, overseeing personnel, student, curriculum, and resource matters. They promote faculty and staff welfare, ensuring policies on non-discrimination, workload, and other organizational standards are implemented. They foster an inclusive process for curriculum development and faculty engagement. Additional Responsibilities: Facilitate student engagement and governance participation Assess student progress and support faculty in providing feedback and remediation Assist in preparing budgets and equipment requests Collaborate with faculty and other departments on resource evaluation and selection Physical Demands and Work Environment: The role requires typical office setting activities, including demonstrating procedures and commuting between classes and offices.
