We are seeking a Regional Safety Manager to join our team on-site in Kansas City, MO or Columbia, MO.

The Regional Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing safety programs at construction sites across the Midwest region to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement safety programs at construction sites across the Midwest region
  • Ability to serve as company representative for OSHA Compliance Inspections
  • Provide training in Competent Person for Confined Space, Excavations and Fall Protection
  • Supervise as staff of 5-10 Safety Managers
  • Conduct job specific contractor selection interviews
  • Run Loss Control Reports and present at Operations Meetings
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers on Railroad Safety Requirements.
  • Basic understanding of Occupational clinics and OSHA Reporting
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project owners, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Provide training and guidance to site personnel on safety-related matters
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and develop corrective action plans
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations and adapt programs and policies as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a safety role, with significant experience in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding FCMSA Compliance (understanding SMS Scores and reporting)
  • Strong understanding of safety principles and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety programs
  • Experience in conducting safety audits and investigations
  • Ability to travel throughout the Midwest region
